How It Started
Liquid Audio's story begins in 1996, when founder Bobby Ghazi launched his first e-commerce website – years before online retail became mainstream. With a background in computer engineering and a lifelong interest in audio and electronics, Bobby saw early what the industry would take another decade to figure out: the future of specialty retail was online.
In 1999, he moved into traditional retail, selling audio and electronics for a major national retailer in Savannah, Georgia. The experience proved formative. Week after week, customers came in searching for products the store didn't carry – specialized audio equipment, professional electronics, hard-to-find gear that no local retailer stocked. They left empty-handed, and Bobby recognized the gap: serious buyers needed a retailer with genuine depth of selection, not just what fit on a shelf.
He returned to e-commerce to build exactly that. The catalog grew steadily – professional audio, DJ equipment, and an expanding range of electronics – and in 2008, the operation officially became Liquid Audio, a specialty retailer built on a simple principle: carry the depth of inventory that customers can't find anywhere else, and deliver it fast.

Three decades after that first website, Liquid Audio is one of the top 25 music product retailers in the United States, with a catalog of more than 10,000 products spanning professional audio, musical instruments, consumer electronics, and imaging equipment from the industry's leading brands.
