The LP-15 is an ultra slim, ultra light weight surface mount soundboard piezo pickup. Weight of the sensor is less than 2 grams (0.07 oz.). All LP-15's are fully RF shielded. The LP-15 pickups are the smallest, thinnest, lightest, and lowest profile soundboard pickups available. Built using a new patent pending process, they are less than one sixteenth of an inch thick at only 0.049\" (1.25mm). The pickup sensor is extremely light in weight (weighing less than 2 grams) and does not inhibit soundboard movement or vibration. The LP-15 is like a super utility pickup - you can use it on just about anything with a soundboard, such as a guitar, mandolin, violin, ukulele, etc. The Schatten LP-15 Outsider is designed for external mounting, and includes an attached cable with a 1\/4\" male plug, ready to plug directly into your amplifider. The LP-15 sensor attaches to the soundboard using either the included VHB double-sided adhesive tape for a permanent installation, or using the included acoustic putty for a non-permanent installation. This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.). As with any pickup, the sound can be further enhanced with an outboard preamp.
