Polk Audio is a company known through the generations as one of the best producers of audio equipment. So it comes as no surprise that Polk has created some of the most popular and most selling outdoor speakers in the world.
So if you are looking for a premium outdoor system, take some time to read more about the Polk Audio Atrium 4 Outdoor Speakers.

The speaker’s dimensions are 21.91 cm in height, 14.45 cm in width, and 16.99 cm in depth. The weight of the speaker is 3.60 pounds each. The available colors for the speakers are black and white.
In the box, you get two speakers, two mounting brackets (installed), a manual, and an online product registration card.
The Polk Audio Atrium 4 is a sealed cabinet that has two different specialty drivers.
The 0.75 Dynamic Balance dome tweeter is constructed of anodized aluminum with a neodymium motor structure for clean highs. These materials are capable of withstanding different weather conditions, hence the 5-year warranty of the speakers.
The other driver is much larger at 4.5 inches and delivers solid mids and lows through the Dynamic Balance mineral-filled polymer cone, held in place with a butyl rubber surround that enables longevity and protection.
Patented Dynamic Balance and Klippel optimization technologies ensure that the material’s performance is perfect. At the same time, all issues with the driver and tweeter are eliminated for more realistic sound reproduction at different volume levels.
The frequency response is from 76 Hz to 25 kHz with a sound output of up to 89 dB. The impedance is 8 ohms.
The cabinet is made of durable, mineral-filled polypropylene with molded-in bracing. The grille is made of aluminum, the same as the bracket, with stainless steel and brass hardware that ensures no rusting. Atrium Series are Polk all-weather certified and exceed baseline industrial and military specifications for environmental endurance ( ASTM D5894-UV Salt Fog, Mil Standard 810 Immersion, Mil-Std 883 Method 1009.8 salt and corrosion). This certification means that Atrium speakers can withstand weather situations without problems, whether extreme temperatures or heavy rains, or snow. All Polk products are built from high-quality materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They need to pass the most exhaustive quality tests like drop tests, extreme signal response, and UV and salt exposure tests.
There are gold-plated 5-way binding posts for a secure hookup. Recommended Amplifier power is 10-80 watts per channel.
The installing of the Polk Audio Atrium 4 is easy, thanks to the patented Speed-lock mounting system that provides effortless installation on any horizontal or vertical surface. You mount the bracket that holds the speaker at a 45 degrees angle and then snap the speaker into the frame. If needed, you can adjust the speaker angle as you prefer and then tighten the locking thumbscrew.
Polk Audio Atrium 4 speakers are designed to be used with a home audio receiver, so to power them, you need to run an 8 ohms speaker wire from the receiver to the speakers. The receiver should deliver between 10-80 watts of power to each channel. If you want to use a Bluetooth or other wireless source to play music, you need to patch it to the receiver first and then play that music through the speakers. There is another option available: the use of a Bluetooth Audio Receiver/Amplifier and having the speakers directly wired to it. This option requires a 110-volt power source for the amplifier that needs to be installed in a dry location since it is not waterproof.
Polk Audio Atrium 4 is perfect for smaller areas like a patio attached to the house or a small pool or deck area. If the speakers are placed too far away, then the sound degrades.
No matter the weather conditions, these speakers deliver crisp and powerful sound. The bass is clean, mid-range, and highs are crisp. There is no distortion even at higher volume levels
The bass and bottom end are suitable for the speaker’s size, but you should get a subwoofer if you want to have a thumping bass.
If you are looking for a high-quality sounding outdoor speaker system, Polk Audio Atrium 4 is something you should consider. And in case you have a larger area that you want to be covered by sound, you can use more than one pair of Atrium 4 speakers and add a set of Polk Audio Atrium 6 speakers for an even deeper sound.
